This Privacy Policy explains how Zenith Intelligence Technologies Inc. (“ZI²,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the ZI² Stream application for iOS and Android (the “App”).
Zenith Intelligence Technologies Inc. is the entity responsible for the App under this Policy. For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), where applicable, we act as the controller of the limited personal data processed through the App as described here. We are based in the United States.
This Policy covers the App. It does not cover: (a) the televisions, receivers, and casting devices you choose to send content to, such as Chromecast, Roku, AirPlay, Miracast, and DLNA equipment, each governed by its maker’s own policy; (b) the network you are connected to, which is operated by you or by whoever runs the venue; or (c) the app-store platforms, Apple App Store and Google Play, which have their own privacy policies.
When you start a cast, the App captures the source you selected, which may be your device screen, your camera, your microphone, or a video file you picked, encodes it, and streams it to the receiver you chose on the network you are joined to. Capture happens on your device and runs only while a cast is active.
We do not receive, store, or have access to what you cast. The App does not scan, index, or upload your photo or media library; when you pick a video, it reads that item and nothing else.
Receiver names and addresses, your quality and protocol preferences, and your chosen language are stored in the App’s storage on your device so it can reconnect and remember how you like it. They are not transmitted to us.
To find receivers, the App reads local network state on the device: its own local IP address and network interfaces, Wi-Fi connection state, and the responses of devices that answer discovery on the local network. It uses multicast and broadcast discovery for that purpose. This information is used on the device to route local traffic, and is not collected by us.
If you email us for support, we receive what you choose to include, such as your address and your message, and we use it to answer you.
The App contains no advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics SDK, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. It does not collect your name, your contacts, your browsing history, or biometric data, and it does not determine, record, or transmit your geographic location. See Section 4 for why Android nevertheless shows a location permission.
| Permission | Platform | Why the App asks |
|---|---|---|
| Local network access, Bonjour service discovery | iOS | To find receivers on the network you are joined to. iOS requires this permission before an app may contact other devices on the local network. |
| Nearby Wi-Fi devices, Wi-Fi and network state, multicast | Android | The same purpose on Android: discovering and connecting to receivers, and detecting when the connection changes. |
| Location, approximate and precise | Android | Android gates Wi-Fi scanning and network discovery behind the location permission, so an app that looks for devices on the local network must request it. The App does not use it to determine, record, or transmit where you are, and no location data leaves your device. |
| Screen recording, Android MediaProjection and iOS ReplayKit | iOS and Android | To capture your screen when you choose to cast it. The system shows its own confirmation before capture starts, and capture stops when you end the cast. |
| Camera | iOS and Android | To cast your camera, when you select the camera as the source. |
| Microphone, audio recording | iOS and Android | To include audio in the cast, when you enable it. |
| Notifications and foreground service | Android | To show an ongoing notification while a cast is running, which tells you casting is active and lets you stop it in one tap. Android requires a foreground service for continuous capture. |
| Prevent sleeping | Android | To keep the device and its Wi-Fi awake while a cast is running, so the stream does not drop. |
You can review or revoke any of these in your device settings. Revoking one disables the feature that needs it: without local network access the App cannot find receivers, and without screen recording it cannot cast your screen.
Where GDPR applies, we process the limited data described above on these bases: performance of a contract, to provide the App you asked for; our legitimate interests, to keep the App secure and working and to answer you, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, for example a device permission you grant, you may withdraw it at any time in your device settings.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose limited information only as follows:
Settings stay on your device until you clear them or uninstall the App. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, and is then deleted.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit where the receiving device supports it. Many casting protocols are defined by the receiver manufacturer and some of them do not encrypt on the local network, which is a property of those protocols rather than a choice the App makes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Treat the network you cast on as you would any shared network, and prefer a network you control.
The App is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the App holds its data on your device and we receive almost nothing, we frequently have no personal data about you to act upon. Where we do, we honor valid requests as required by law.
We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. California residents, and residents of states with comparable laws including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah, may exercise the applicable rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
You have the rights described above under GDPR, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, write to us at the address in Section 15. We may need to verify your request.
We are based in the United States. To the limited extent any information reaches us and is processed in the United States or elsewhere, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
The App does not track you across other apps or websites, so there is no cross-site tracking for a “Do Not Track” signal to disable.
We may update this Policy. When we do, we revise the “Last updated” date above and, where required, give additional notice. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
